A Weekday Long Run Story

This morning I set out on what I had planned on being a 12 mile run. But then I hit snooze a couple times, and it turns out that I was running SUPER slow this morning, which left me only enough time to get about 9.5 miles done. I am trying not to be disappointed in the fact that I left 2.5 miles unfinished today, and be proud of the 9.5 miles that I did cover. There's just something about not meeting my plan that eats at me. Especially when I was already supposed to have done this 12 mile run on Sunday, but I had too much fun on Saturday night to get a long run done the next day. And I'd like to say that I've learned my lesson, but I probably haven't, and this won't be my last weekday morning long run that I'll be squeezing into the training plan. But that's okay, because I have also learned that it is important to be a little flexible with your training schedule, and to listen to my body. My body is currently telling me that tomorrow better be a rest day (and I'm listening).

And now, I will leave you with a picture from my run this morning. It was 19 degrees when I started, and I felt like it got colder as it got lighter outside. At any rate, the sky was beautiful, and I'm glad to have some miles under my feet for the day. Hope you're having a great day too!
